The EPIC Diabetes Conference is presented by the Children’s Diabetes Foundation and the Barbara Davis Center. The EPIC Committee is led by Erin Cobry, MD and Halis Kaan Akturk, MD.
Erin Cobry, MD
Assistant Professor of Pediatrics
Dr. Cobry joined the Barbara Davis Center in 2019. She currently conducts research through a JDRF and Helmsley Charitable Trust grant focused on improving sleep health in adolescents with type 1 diabetes. Additionally, she conducts both industry and academic research involving diabetes technologies, including continuous glucose monitors, insulin pumps, and automated insulin delivery systems. This research focuses on safety and efficacy evaluations and the impact of these systems on sleep and quality of life. Dr. Cobry has recently developed a program of research around continuous glucose monitor use in the hospital setting to improve diabetes management in youth during acute illnesses requiring hospitalization. Her overall goal is to improve diabetes care in all environments through access to technologies and methods to decrease burden and improve sleep and quality of life.
